Sunshine can raise the temperature in a room by 10 degrees or more.
This is especially apparent in south-facing rooms, which receive the most direct sunlight throughout the day of any part of your house.
3 things you can do:
- Install a zone control system, which will divide your house into as many zones as you want. Each zone has its own thermostat, so you can control the temperature in each zone independently.
- Replace your system’s PSC motor with an energy-efficient Evergreen ECM motor. The ECM motor is made to run constantly at low speed, which keeps air circulating through your house at all times. Constant air flow makes a tremendous difference in moderating the temperature throughout your house.
- If your system is older than 10 years, you might just need to upgrade to a new, high-efficiency system powered by Genteq ECM technology.
Ask your contractor:
Would I benefit from installing a zoning system? Should I upgrade to a system with ECM technology?
